August 1, 2013 - Nashville, Tennessee - PCS is pleased to announce that it has successfully negotiated a new contract with South Carolina’s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) for its Boards of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners, effective July 1, 2013 and extending for a five (5) year term.
In 2004, PCS and LLR partnered for the first time to administer the National Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology (NIC) practical examinations for these two South Carolina boards. Together, since 2004, PCS and LLR have assisted thousands of South Carolina’s candidates to successfully complete their examinations and to obtain licenses in their chosen professions. PCS currently processes applications and administers examinations for approximately 3,329 candidates on a yearly basis in South Carolina.
Andrea Bledsoe, PCS' Chief Customer and Compliance Officer had this to say: “We, at PCS, have immensely enjoyed our partnership with the Staff at LLR and the Board Members with whom we work closely. During our new contract term, PCS and LLR will be automating the current paper application process and other associated manual processes to on-line processes that will benefit candidates, LLR staff, the Boards and PCS. We consider it an honor and a privilege that LLR has chosen to continue working with PCS for the next many years and we look forward to more mutual successes.”
